New changes to the Global Talent Stream occupation list

We have received an email from Service Canada / Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) about the changes to the GTS occupation list. More people can apply to the Global Talent Stream now, and employer requirements stay the same.

On Thursday, December 22, 2022, the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program will update the 2022 Global Talent Occupations List. Employers across Canada can quickly, predictably, and easily access global talent through the Global Talent Stream (GTS) of the TFW Program to fill highly skilled and in-demand positions.

Applications are accepted for Category B of the GTS from Canadian companies that need to hire highly talented foreign workers for jobs listed on the Global Talent Occupations List, which have been determined to be in demand and for which there is a shortage of domestic labour.

Five NOC 2016 codes are added to the list:
  • 2131 Civil engineers
  • 2133 Electrical and electronics engineers
  • 2143 Mining engineers
  • 2146 Aerospace engineers
  • 2241 Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians

The published Global Talent Occupations List will include NOC 2016 codes, their matching NOC 2021 codes, and any associated wage floors due to ESDC's recent adoption of NOC 2021 on November 16, 2022. For the new complete occupation list, see it below.
